Silence

Two years passed

I called her in a lonely afternoon

She pretended not to recognize me

But I could guess she did

That spontaneous response

I could imagine the blush on her face

I wondered how she would react

May be she was trembling a bit

Perhaps a sudden excitement

Passed right through her body

As it did in me

 

After a while

I could hear her heavy breathing

As she did mine

She could not hide herself anymore

I could picture her eyes

Searching for answers impatiently

She asked why I love her

Suddenly I found no words to utter

Wondering why I need any reason

My silence gave all the answer she needed
